sin eater:
Laid bare,
I know what you’re thinking.
How did you get a rib cage around a soul so vast?
“I am the universe, inside and out”
A broken sailor,
I know my way around a stormy sea.
Capsized on waves of fancy.
Oh how fleeting.
I long to be formless,
a wisp of vapor.
To one day birth a sun.
I shine on the valorous.
There once was a garden,
a paradise lost.
But I never much cared for fruit.
If it were only sweetness,
if only it were so.
I’d reach my hand aloft,
pluck the ripest one.
Now as it stands,
they fall to the earth.
Their sin eaten by the soil.
If only we all had such fortune.
